For the Sake of God's Children
All adults (faculty/staff and volunteers) take a pledge to provide safe and secure environments for the children entrusted to their care along with the commitment of parents to the sacred trust that they receive in providing safety and security to the children with which they are blessed.
Our full-time school counselor spearheads the efforts to present and implement the “Keeping Our Promises” curriculum to the entire All Saints Catholic School community. All the teachers viewed an educational video provided by the Diocese of Wilmington to heighten awareness to sexual and physical abuse. The teachers were introduced to the eleven modules that define the “Keeping Our Promises” curriculum.
These concepts are required by the Diocese to be included into the classes throughout the years. The modules span grades PK-8 and are as follows:
#2 GOOD TOUCH/BAD TOUCH
#3 TRUSTED ADULTS
#4 ROLE OF THE CHURCH
#5 LIFE IS A GIFT FROM GOD
#6 APPROPRIATE BOUNDARIES
#7 PEER RELATIONSHIPS
#10 SAFE ENVIORNMENT
Working in conjunction with teachers from Prevent Child Abuse Delaware, most of the modules have been thoroughly covered by the faculty with their students. Our full-time school counselor intermittently interfaces with the teachers to assess the program's progress and helps where she can.
